Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 2026
1. Who we are
These terms are a contract between you and RideGuard ("RideGuard", "we", "us"). By using our website or hazard map, you agree to these terms.
2. The service
RideGuard provides a free, community-sourced hazard map for cyclists and riders in London, together with route planning tools. Reports are user-submitted and provided as-is; we do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Always ride to the conditions in front of you.
3. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service. In particular, you may not: use it for unlawful purposes; submit fraudulent, spam, or infringing content; interfere with security (including malware, probing, scraping, or unauthorised access); or infringe anyone's intellectual property rights.
4. Accounts
If you create an account you must provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and are responsible for activity under your account.
5. Intellectual property
RideGuard and all associated software, design, branding, and documentation are owned by RideGuard. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the service or circumvent its technical limits.
6. User content
You retain ownership of hazard reports and other content you submit but grant RideGuard a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and process that content solely to operate and improve the service.
7. Warranties and liability
RideGuard is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. RideGuard is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages (including loss of profits, data, or goodwill) arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law does not allow such limitation.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, security or fraud risk, or repeated policy violations. You may stop using the service at any time.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
